Volunteer Opportunities
Reach Basketball Youth League relies on the enthusiastic participation of many volunteers to assist in coaching and managing teams as well as other league activities such as time and scorekeeping. If you have a love for the game of basketball and enjoy working with young people, RYBL encourages you to complete our Volunteer Form.
Coach Volunteers
RBYL is looking for all types of coaches (experienced or beginner). RYBL will provide coaching resources and training to dedicated volunteers.
As this is our first year, volunteer coaches make the RBYL in the Chandler Unified School District possible. We are currently in need of coaches both beginner and experienced, for our recreational league. All volunteers must fill out a volunteer waiver and consent form. Also, it is required by the Chandler Unified School District that all volunteer coaches have a Fingerprint Clearance Card. Additional details on how to obtain the Fingerprint Clearance Card can be found at the following link - http://www.azdps.gov/Services/Fingerprint/ .
If you’re not sure about head coaching a team, co-coaching or assistant coaching can be arranged.
Follow these few steps to become a Volunteer Coach for the RBYL:
1. Download and Complete the Volunteer Coaches Application and Waiver and Consent Forms [Download Forms]
2. Fax completed and Signed Forms to (480) 659-2929 in advance for quicker processing and bring it to the Coaches Meeting.
3. Obtain your Fingerprint Clearance Card** (see item d below) If you already have a Fingerprint Clearance Card, skip to step 5. You will be required to provide your card for proof.
a. Get Your Fingerprints – there are sites in Chandler where this can be done – Find more information here - http://www.chandlerpd.com/community_fingerprinting.html
b. Obtain your Fingerprint Clearance Card - http://www.chandlerpd.com/community_fingerprinting.html
c. This process can take a few weeks to complete. The sooner you start the better.
d. If you have any questions or concerns at all regarding fingerprint cards, please call us at 480-628-6722.
4. Attend the Coaches Meeting.
5. Bring all completed forms signed to the Coaches Meeting
Coaches Compensation
As this is our first year, we will be unable to monetarily compensate volunteer coaches. As the league grows and becomes more successful, our goal for future leagues is to provide such compensation to our coach volunteers. Please keep in mind that Volunteering is fun and rewarding! The RBYL and the CUSD is grateful to those of you who volunteer for donating your time. Thank you in advance for your support!
